The DVD and the Study of Film

The opening of Laura Mulvey‘s synchronized commentary for the 1995 Criterion laserdisc of Peeping Tom (UK, 1960, dir. Michael Powell), which has since been republished on DVD and BD. Parker and Parker argue in their book that Mulvey’s commentary is an exemplary demonstration of the medium’s potential as a “film school in a box”.
